Indonesian youths gathered across SIM HQ and West Coast Park for a vibrant day of culture, sports, and community celebration.
On 15 August 2026, Indonesian students in Singapore came together in a vibrant display of nationalism and community spirit for InSIMerdeka 2026: ARJUNA. Hosted at SIM HQ, this year’s annual Independence Day commemoration brought together over 60 enthusiastic participants to celebrate Indonesia's freedom far from home. We are honored to have had esteemed guests from PPIS (Indonesian Association in Singapore) and KBRI (Indonesian Embassy in Singapore) in attendance.
The celebration was packed with unforgettable moments, kicking off with a solemn and proud annual flag ceremony at SIM HQ that set a patriotic tone to honor the nation's history. Participants then shook off any morning stiffness with a lively senam fitness session, featuring special guests who joined in to pump up the energy levels and hype the crowd. Following the morning ceremonies, the excitement shifted outdoors to West Coast Park, where attendees dove into a series of fun, high-energy games and special guests that sparked friendly competition and plenty of laughter. Finally, the success of ARJUNA was magnified by an incredible turnout, welcoming members from various student bodies and organizations including PPIS, Sentre, Kunci, Laskar, and Padi, showcasing a strong, united front of Indonesian youths in Singapore.
An event of this scale does not happen overnight. Massive appreciation goes to Ms. Sophie, our Project Director, alongside the stellar team of directors, dedicated committees, and every single attendee. Without your hard work, passion, and active participation, InSIMerdeka 2026 wouldn't have been the unforgettable milestone that it is. Merdeka! Salam InSIM!
